MotoGP musim 2010 tinggal menyisakan satu balapan lagi, dengan juara dunianya sudah pasti diraih Jorge Lorenzo. Persoalannya adalah, siapa yang ada di posisi dua, tiga dan empat.

Untuk posisi II, Pedrosa paling berpeluang karena poinnya adalah 236, berselisih 19 dengan Rossi. Jika Rossi meraih juara I atau II di balapan terakhir, sementara Pedrosa gagal finis, maka Rossi berkesempatan meraih Runner Up MotoGP 2010.

Keadaan yang hampir sama terjadi pada peluang juara III, masih antara Rossi dan Stoner. Selisih poin mereka adalah 12. Jika Rossi mencapai hasil buruk dan Stoner tampil maksimal, maka Rossi tak bisa masuk 3 besar.
